Reportage is a casual style of directed photography which
has been developed
in recent years to become a common method of creating less
formal wedding
photographs of the Bride and Groom in particular. It can
be applied in
addition to other subjects but does depend on the subjects'
co-operation to
achieve the best results. Martin & Elaine normally
use a minimum of
reportage staged photographs as they progress through the
days events
without emphasising their application, or taking too many
as they can become
false if used in excess'.
They take most of their reportage photographs without
direction, this saves
time, looks more natural and genuine. This approach particularly
helps
subjects who do not feel relaxed and happy in front of
the camera lens. The
main object is to provide relaxed happy memorable photographs
with the
minimum of fuss and bother. They do not want to take you
away from your
family and friends for a long photo-session unless that
is what you want.
